Guidelines for Reviewers

Submission

The “Make a Submission” button on the Journal of Architecture and Urbanism website (insert site link) should be used for all online submissions.

It will be necessary for new users to create an account. After logging in, authors can submit their work or check the manuscript’s progress.

Peer-review and decisions

In order to avoid bias, the journal conducts double-blind peer review, in which neither the authors nor the reviewers are aware of one another’s identities. Review the journal’s policies.

It is recommended that manuscripts be submitted in two distinct Word files (according to the submission template).

All papers are reviewed by the editorial office after submission, and if they are deemed to be outside the journal’s scope or otherwise unsuitable for acceptance, they may be rejected right away. Articles that pass the preliminary review process will be forwarded to an outside reviewer. Reviewing can take up to 60 days, so please be patient. The authors will receive their reviewer reports and the editor’s judgment as soon as feasible.

Post review, the editor will decide whether to approve, reject, or revise. Both modest and big revisions are possible. If a decision is made to revise an article, authors are urged to do so as soon as possible; if they take too long, the article can be deemed a new submission. Depending on the level of editing requested, revised articles can be sent out for additional review.

Publication charges

The journal is owned by Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (VILNIUS TECH) and is open-access and peer-reviewed. Due to VILNIUS TECH’s payment of all publication fees, it is entirely free for authors and readers.

See the journal policies Fees and Charges.

Copyright and publication

During submission, you will be asked to sign various warranties about the article (see Journal policies). Affirming that it is unique and does not violate any legal or private rights (such as copyright, libel, or privacy) is one of these. While granting VILNIUS TECH the right of first publication, authors maintain copyright in their works.

The Creative Commons CC BY 4.0 license will govern the open access publication of all papers. Since there are no obstacles to access, this guarantees that they get the most exposure possible. Although readers are permitted to distribute and reuse the material under this license, they must always give full acknowledgment to the authors and the original publication. See the journal’s policies on Open Access.

Article Types

All original contributions of articles and reviews that adhere to the journal’s aims and scope are encouraged.

Every contribution needs to be an original work that hasn’t been accepted by another journal.

Any previously published material (such as figures) must be disclosed in the work, and authors are in charge of securing the necessary permissions before republishing. If asked for, proof of authorization must be provided; refer to Reproduction of Copyright Material.

Template of a Manuscript

The paper should be submitted in two different Word documents. The linked <Word template for Title Page> (INSERT THE LINK) and <Word template for Anonymized Document> (INSERT THE LINK) should be used for the preparation of the manuscript for this journal.

The paper’s title, authors’ names, institutional affiliations, addresses, email addresses, ORCID, corresponding author identification, abstract, and keywords should all be included on the title page. To protect author anonymity, acknowledgements, funding, disclosures, and contributions should only appear on the title page (not included in the anonymized document file).

In order to guarantee author anonymity, an anonymized document should have a title, abstract, keywords, the main body of the text (personal information should be included in the Title Page file), and references. Following the peer-review process, the accepted manuscript will contain the personal data.
